Admission Procedures for Meadow Green Academy

Admission Procedures

We always suggest that a parent first attend one of our Open Houses or make an appointment for a tour of the school.  We can then take the time to discuss your child’s individual needs, and review your desires and expectations in order to confirm an appropriate fit with our school.

The next step in the admission process is submission of the following:

  • The application for admission
  • The confidential academic/behavioral assessment (with the first page signed and completed)
  • A copy of the child’s birth certificate and immunization record
  • A copy of the child’s final report for the previous year and their current report card
  • A cheque in the amount of $130.00 made out to Meadow Green Academy for the academic assessment (for students going into Grade 1 and up only)

For students applying for Grade 1 and up, an appointment should be made for the academic assessment. For students applying for Preschool, Junior or Senior Kindergarten an appointment should be made so that the Director can meet the child and the parents.  The academic assessment will be conducted using a series of standardized tests. Upon completion of the assessment, the Director will briefly meet with the parents to discuss the child’s learning needs.

For students who are accepted, an offer of admission will be sent in the mail.  To accept the offer of admission and reserve your child’s place in the class, the following must be submitted:

  • The non-refundable registration deposit
  • Post-dated tuition cheques in accordance with payment plan A or B
  • Post-dated AEA cheques (if applicable)
  • The OSR request form
  • Post-dated cheques for busing and the before and after school program (if applicable)

If the class is full,  please submit the registration deposit and your child’s name will be put on a waiting list.  If a space does not open up in the class, the registration deposit will be returned.

We strongly urge parents to register as soon as possible.  Meadow Green Academy is a smaller school under 200 students in total enrollment, with class size limits for all grade.  We enjoy a very strong reputation for the quality of our education resulting in classes filling quickly.  Many classes are full and only a space or two opens due to the usual movement by parents for work – even then we frequently have parents living as far away as Toronto, Burlington, and Brampton still commuting their children to Meadow Green.  So we must emphasize that the sooner you commence the registration process, the better your chances of securing a spot for your children.
